16 hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning in Mendhar

MENDHAR, Jan 7: Sixteen individuals, including 2 teachers and 14 students from a Madrasa in Chhatral village of Mendhar, were hospitalized after falling ill following a meal they consumed together.
Reports said that shortly after the meal, the children and teachers began experiencing symptoms such as stomach discomfort and fainting. They were promptly rushed to the Sub-District Hospital in Mendhar for treatment.
Dr Ashfaq Ahmed, Block Medical Officer Mendhar confirmed that all the affected individuals are under observation and receiving necessary care. The condition of the patients is currently stable, he added.
The local police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the illness, with food poisoning being the primary suspicion. Samples from the meal have also been collected for further testing.
This incident has raised concerns among the people, and authorities have assured a thorough probe into the matter.
