RAJOURI, June 4: At least 16 persons were injured, four of them seriously when a mini-bus met with an accident near Lamberi on Jammu-Rajouri-highway this morning.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place at around 7.15 am today when the vehicle No. JK-20/9351 was on way to Reasi from Shahdara Sharief pilgrimage near Thannamandi. Near Lamberi in Nowshera, the vehicle went out of control at a sharp curve and it over turned on the road. A total 16 pilgrims on board were injured in the mishap.
The police and locals of the area shifted the injured persons to SDH Sunderbani on their request. While four seriously injured were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu, some of them were discharged after providing first aid at Sunderbani hospital. Majority of them belonged to Reasi.
The four seriously injured referred to GMC Hospital Jammu were identified as Payal (12), daughter of Jagdev Singh from Garati, Reasi; Radha Devi (28), wife of Sudesh Singh, resident of Reasi; Dhan Devi, wife of Dhani Ram from Reasi and Archana Devi, wife of Shaitan Singh from Reasi. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
