160 Registrars/Demonstrators selected for new Medical Colleges

JAMMU, Jan 3: Health and Medical Education Department, in its continuous efforts to start five new Medical Colleges in the State, got a major success with selection of 160 Registrars/Demonstrators in the new Medical Colleges.
“GMC Anantnag and GMC Baramulla have selected 41 and 42 Registrars/Demonstrators respectively whereas in Jammu Division, GMC Doda, Kathua and Rajouri have selected 19, 34 and 24 Registrars/Demonstrators, respectively,” a press release issued by Health & Medical Education Department said.
Similarly, the Department on the recommendations of Public Service Commission has issued appointment orders for 59 faculty members (16 for GMC Anantnag, 13 for Baramulla, 8 for Doda, 14 for Kathua and 8 for Rajouri) in different specialties for new Medical Colleges. The release said that faculty members in these medical colleges have started joining their respective institutions.
According to the release, the process for recruitment of other Gazetted staff including faculty members and Non-Gazetted staff under SRO 384 has also been initiated and shall be completed in next one month, which will help to overcome the shortage of staff in the new Medical Colleges before the next inspection of Medical Council of India (MCI).
