JAMMU, Jan 3: Nowabad police arrested 17 gamblers and seized Rs 54,600 stake money from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nowabad Police Station busted a gambling den operating in a hotel in Sant Market area of Jewel and apprehended 17 persons along with Rs 54,600 stake money.
All the arrested persons have been booked under section 13 of the Gambling Act by the Nowabad Police.
Police team led by SHO Nowabad Inspector Neeraj Bhagat and assisted by Incharge Police Post Canal Road SI Sohan Singh raided the hotel and apprehended the gamblers.
