UDHAMPUR, Mar 9: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 17 animals besides arresting two smugglers.
These bovine animals were being smuggled in a vehicle (JK02BV-6687) , which was stopped by a Police patrolling party, near Army Camp, Roundmail. Police rescued all the bovine animals and arrested driver and his associate, identified as Ayoob , son of Roshan Din of Chamba, UP and Altaf Hussain , son of Bashir Ahmed of Krimachi Mansar.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 96/2021 U/S 188/ 11 IPC, 2/3 PDDP Act has been registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation is underway.
The Police party, which foiled the bovine smuggling bid, was led by SHO Udhampur, Insp Chanchal Singh and assisted by Insp Vijay Sharma, IC PP Roundmail.
