17 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, May 11: Foiling an attempt of bovine smuggling, Police rescued 17 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers near naka point Tikri, here today.
The bovines were being taken on foot by the smugglers in two separate groups towards Kashmir valley without any valid permission.
According to the reports, a Police team led by Incharge Police Post Tikri PSI Abdul Satar under the supervision of Sahil Mahajan, DySP Hqrs and overall supervision of SSP Dr Vinod Kumar-IPS, intercepted the two groups of bovine animals at naka point Tikri.
all the 17 animals were rescued and both the smugglers, namely Manzoor Ahmed, son of Abdullah of Satwari Jammu and Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Gami of Satwari, Jammu, were arrested on the spot.
In this regard, FIR numbers 97/2022 and 98/2022 under relevant sections were registered and further investigation of the cases is going on.
