JAMMU, Sept 28: Nagrota police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid by arresting a suspected smuggler and rescuing 17 bovine animals.
“During naka checking at Ban Toll Plaza in Nagrota area, a team of police station Nagrota intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02R-9187 and during checking of the vehicle, recovered 17 bovine animals loaded in the vehicle,” a police official said.
He said in this regard, a case FIR Number 389/2021 U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA Act was registered at police station Nagrota and the accused namely Sameer son of Mohd Hanief, resident of Muralia (Miran Sahib, Jammu) was arrested.
The arrest and recovery was made by SHO police station Nagrota Inspector Mohd Showkat under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh. Further investigation of the case is going on.
