RAJOURI, Dec 5: At least 17 persons were injured when a bus carrying members of marriage party met with an accident in Manjakote area of district Rajouri today.
Official sources said that incident took place when the bus loaded with members of marriage party was going from Rajdhani village towards Tarkundi area near the Line of Control in Manjakote. The accident took place when the Cantor bearing registration number JK11A-8432 was reaching closer to its destination at Tarkundi.

Due to slippery road condition, the driver lost control at a turn and the bus overturned on the road. DSP Traffic, Aftab Ahmed, who reached the spot, said that 17 Baratis were injured in the accident, out of which four received serious injuries.
Soon after the accident, teams of police from Manjakote Police Station and Traffic Police and Army reached the spot and started rescue operation. All the injured were rescued and removed to Manjakote hospital, out of which 11 were referred to GMC Hospital, Rajouri. Other injured were discharged after providing treatment at Manjakote Hospital. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
The injured have been identified as Nazir Hussain, Irfan Khan, Mohd Shabbir, Afroz Ahmed, Mohd Shabbir, Mohd Azhar, Mohd Qayoom, Mohd Karamat, Shahbaz Ahmed, Mobil Ahmed, Shahid Ahmed, Sikandar Hayat, Mohd Liaqat, Mohd Noor, Mohd Azim, all residents of Manjakote area.
