17-year-old succumbs to burn injuries

JAMMU, Mar 31: A 17-year-old girl, who had received serious burn injuries some days back in Udeywala area of city outskirts, succumbed to her injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), here today.
According to an official of police post Pounichak, on March 20, the victim identified as Tania daughter of Gopal Dass (who had come to the house of her maternal grandmother’s residence in Udheywala area) suffered about 100 % burn injuries due to explosion of cooking gas cylinder there.
“With severe injuries, the girl was battling for the life at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she expired today at about 9:55 AM,” the official said, adding, body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after postmortem while further investigation into the case was underway.
