‘170 posts in JKSPDC being filled up in Ladakh’

JAMMU, Feb 19: Minister of State for Power Vikar Rasool informed the House that 170 posts available with JKSPDC were ordered to be made operational and placed at the disposal of Chief Project Engineer (CPE), Kargil for further placement with Electric Project division, Kargil and Leh, Ladakh Circle.
Replying to calling attention notice of Nurboo Gialchan in the Legislative Council today, the Minister said an authorized committee will be constituted, headed by the Chief Project Engineer, Kargil and comprising Executive Engineers, Electric Project Division, Kargil and Leh, Pay and Accounts Officer, Kargil and Leh and representative of Deputy Commissioner, Kargil and Leh for making recruitment to Non-Gazetted posts as per standing rules of the Government and resolution of the Board of Directors of JKSPDC.
When the department initiated the process, a Writ Petition was filed in the High Court at Srinagar.       Subsequently, keeping in view the legal sensitivities the matter has been deferred till the final verdict in the case by the High Court.
The Minister further informed the House that JKSPDC is now in the process of restructuring/rationalization of staff. Further action in the matter would be taken keeping in view the actual requirement of manpower in the operational plants in the Ladakh region and also final outcome of the writ petition, he added.
