REASI, May 10: Police today foiled two separate attempts of bovines smuggling and rescued 18 bovines besides arresting two smugglers.
Reports said that a team of Police Post Dewal laid a surprise naka at Dewal area and intercepted the accused namely Ajaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Younis of Tulli, Tehsil Chassana, who was smuggling on foot 16 bovine animals.
Police arrested the accused and rescued all the animals. In this regards a case FIR number 41/2022, under section 188 IPC, has been registered at Police Station Mahore and investigation initiated.
In another success, team of Police Post Shajroo intercepted one vehicle (Tata Mobile) bearing registration number JK19-5855 and rescued two bovines from the possession of smuggler, namely Mohd Altaf son of Barkat Ali of Bankoot, Tehsil Banihal.
In this regard, a case FIR number 39/2022, under section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Mahore.
