UDHAMPUR, Mar 13: The police rescued 18 bovine animals and seized two vehicles used for the smuggling of these cattle in Udhampur area today.
Official sources said that a police team from Police Station Chenani led by SHO Insp Anil Kumar Sharma, under the supervision of Tahir Amin Sheikh, SDPO Chenani foiled bovine smuggling bid and rescued 18 bovines. The team also seized two vehicles bearing registration number JK14H-1991, JK02BK-5274, and arrested its drivers during naka at Motorshed on National Highway near Chenani.
They were identified as Mukesh Kumar, son of Darshan Lal from Miran Sahib Jammu and Mohd Mansha, son of Choudhary Ibrahim, resident of Zero Morh, Reasi.
An FIR under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Chenani in this connection.
