18 injured as Bus rolls down in canal

JAMMU, Mar 16: About 18 persons were injured, one of them seriously when a speeding bus rolled down in Ranbir Canal, this morning.
According to a police spokesperson, the ill-fated bus bearing registration No JK02L-6457 was on its way from Planwala to Jammu, when the driver of the bus lost control over the steering near Gura Patan and the vehicle rolled down into Ranbir canal along the road.
In the mishap, Tarsem Singh (41) son of Nikka Ram, a resident of Planwala received serious injuries and was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu while 17 others who received minor injuries were discharged after providing first aid at Government Hospital, Akhnoor.
A case in this regard has been registered at Police Station, Kanachak and the bus involved in the accident seized.
