KATHUA, July 17: Eighteen sheep and goats were buried alive under a land slide in Sarthal area of Bani tehsil in Kathua district late last night.
According to reports 18 goats and sheep of Ishro Ram of Rolka Bani which were taken for grazing in the meadows of Sarthal were buried alive under landslide. The poor fellow suffered a loss in lakhs of rupees.
In another incident, a five year child was washed away in flash floods in Sukhrala belt of Billawar yesterday after the child was going to his home from Billwar with his parents.
He has been identified as Ranju, son of Zulfkar. The child who along with parents were crossing a small rill catching the hand of his father loosened the grip of his father’s hand and was washed away by the strong current of the water in the rill.
His whereabouts could not be ascertained. Billawar police has registered a case in this regard.
