RAMBAN, Mar 25: Police here today under operation Kamdhenu foiled 18 bovine smuggling bids and registered 18 FIRs arresting 18 bovine smugglers and rescuing 345 bovines. A total of 18 vehicles were seized in these operations.
Cops from Police Station Chanderkote, headed by SHO Chanderkote, while on vehicle checking duty intercepted two vehicles and held two persons after 26 bovines were found loaded in both the vehicles in a cruel manner.
In another instance cops from Police Station Ramsoo headed by SHO Ramsoo intercepted four vehicles and held four persons after 65 bovines were found loaded in these vehicles.
In yet another instance, cops from Police Station Banihal headed by SHO Banihal intercepted 12 vehicles and held 12 persons as during checking 254 bovines were found loaded in these vehicles.
As a result, a total of 345 bovines were rescued under operation Kamdhenu. Subsequently, FIR No. 12/2025 and 13/2025 were registered at Police Station Chanderkote, FIR Nos. 10/2025, 11/2025, 12/2025 and 13/2025 at Police Station Ramsoo and FIR Nos. 25/2025, 26/2025, 27/2025, 28/2025, 29/2025, 30/2025, 31/2025, 32/2025, 33/2025, 34/2025, 35/2025 and 36/2025 at Police Station Banihal under relevant sections of law and investigation was started into these cases.
