1800 farmers, 60 officers participate in Krishi Darshan Exposure

JAMMU, Mar 26: Department of Agriculture organized Krishi Darshan Exposure wherein 1800 farmers as well as 60 officers participated from within and outside the State.
This was disclosed in a official statement issued by Ashok Kumar Malhotra, Joint Director of Agriculture (extension) Jammu. He said that 200 farmers and four officers from the department were deputed to PAU-Ludhiana, ICAR, New Delhi and Gurgaon where they got exposure of one big Kissan Mela organized by ICAR and other by Haryana Agriculture Leadership Summit 2015 at Gurgaon.
The farmers from Jammu division witnessed the latest technology such as machinery, tools, implements, new variety of seeds, fruits, cattle etc adopted by different states in the field of agriculture and allied sectors. The farmers of the State had interaction with the farmers of other states and scientists as well.
Malhotra further disclosed that 1600 numbers of farmers and 56 officers from the Department participated in the Krishi Darshan Exposure within the State at SKUAST-Chatha where they were shown advance technology adopted by the SKUAST in the areas of vegetable, floriculture cultivation and video films on advance technology adopted by other states in Hindi and Dogri languages.
Dr K S Risam, Director Extension SKUAST made all arrangement and involved scientists of the SKUST for providing effective exposure of the latest technology to the farming community.
