19 militancy affected cases cleared for compensation in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: An amount of over Rs 50-lakh has been sanctioned as compensation in favour of militancy affected families in the Srinagar district, an official spokesman said here this evening.

He said a meeting of District Level Screening-Cum-Coordination Committee (DLSCCC) was held under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar in his office chamber today.

In the meeting, 26 cases of victims of militancy related incidents came up for discussion, he said adding out of which 12 cases were cleared for cash compensation at the rate of Rs 4-lakh each and one case of compassionate appointment.

He said three cases were cleared for grant of ex-gratia relief of Rs one-lakh each. Three injury cases were also cleared for an amount of Rs 81, 000.

In total, an amount of Rs 51, 81,000 was sanctioned in favour of the next of the kins of deceased and injured persons, he said. (AGENCIES)
