NEW DELHI, Dec 25:
A 19-year-old girl has been chosen for an expedition to the world’s highest peak—Mount Everest—scheduled to begin in April next year.
Saachi Soni, a native of Jaipur and student of Delhi University, has been selected by Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling for the expedition scheduled from April 6 to May 25, 2013.
“It is a privilege. I feel great to be chosen for such an expedition to scale the world’s highest peak. I will work hard to bring laurels to my country,” Saachi said.
Mount Everest (8,850 mt) is located in Himalayan region of Nepal.
Saachi, who will be a part of eight member group, is pursuing a course in Mass Media from Indraprasth College for women and is looking for sponsorship to support her expedition.
