19-yr old boy dies as car rams into divider

JAMMU, Dec 25: A 19 year old boy was killed and his accomplice injured when the car they were travelling in, hit the road divider at Nai Basti area falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar police station.
According to a police spokesperson, the deceased has been identified as Fahad Mir (19) son of Tufail Mir, resident of Trikuta Nagar while the injured is Satyam Manmotra son of Sanjeev Manmotra of Sainik Colony.
The accident took place in the wee hours today when Fahad Mir, who was driving the car (having registration No- JK02BD-1143) failed to control it due to excessive speed and it rammed into the divider of the road.
Both the occupants of the car were seriously injured in the mishap following which they were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. However, seriously injured Fahad Mir succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital. After conducting post mortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
A case in this regard has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and further investigations started.
In another incident, a truck turned turtle at Rajeev Nagar Chowk in Narwal area late last night in which the driver of the vehicle died on the spot while the conductor suffered serious injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Rajinder Singh alias Sunny (30) son of Talvinder Singh, resident of Ghagwal in Samba district while the injured is Deva (21) son of Dasrath, a resident of Assam.
The injured is being treated at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu while the body of the deceased driver was handed over to his family members after conducting post mortem. The concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter.
