SRINAGAR, April 26: 19th Open Kashmir Badminton Championship organised by J&K Badminton Association in collaboration with J&K Police at Indoor Stadium, Srinagar, in which students including girls of different schools participated, concluded today.
On the valedictory function, Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar, Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, was the chief guest, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners up of twenty-one different Badminton categories organised during the championship.
SSP in his address to the participants said that sports not only develops physical fitness but also inculcates discipline and resilience in the youth. He stressed upon the students to take up extra curricular activities seriously as they take academics.
The closing ceremony was attended by senior functionaries of JK Badminton Association and all SPs of Srinagar City.
