1st day: NPP shouts slogans against NC-Cong govt in J&K Assy

 

SRINAGAR :  Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today witnessed ‘ slogan shouting’ for few minutes by members of the National Panthers Party (NPP).

When Speaker Mubarak Gul took up the obituary reference on the first day of the seven-day-long brief session, members of NPP entered the House raising slogans.

They were demanding dismissal of the National Conference and Congress coalition government in the state, alleging that it has failed on all fronts.

Without referring to particular incident, the members were shouting ‘stop innocent killings in the state’.

However, they resumed their seats after Mr Gul said he was reading obituary references on the sad demise of Dharam Chander Prashant, former MP and a journalist, Daya Krishan Kotwal former MLC and Khawaja Ghulam Nabi Shora, former secretary of the house.

Independent member Er Sheikh Abdul Rashid was also on his feet saying something which was not auidable in the gallery.

However, he also resumed his seat after Mr Gul said  Mr Rashid will also be allowed to speak in the House later.
