POONCH, Nov 21: The police today arrested two persons in connection with the murder of two brothers including an Army Havaldar in Mendhar area of Poonch district.
SP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain disclosed that two persons, Faheed Abbas and Zahir Abbas, sons of Mohd Razak, residents of Saruti in Mendhar were arrested from a hideout by Mendhar police during early hours today. They were wanted in the murder of Army Havaldar Ayaz Ahmed of 17 JAKLI and his brother Zaffar Iqbal of Saruti village. The accused were evading arrest for the last one week. He said the police teams were raiding different hideouts to nab the other culprits. An Army jawan wanted in the murders will also be arrested within a day or two, he added.
He further disclosed that yet another murder accused Haji Abdul, son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Galuta in Mendhar who was absconding since April 25, 2010 after committing a murder, was nabbed from a hideout in Ari area of Mendhar today. He was wanted in a case FIR No. 44/2013 under Section 302 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act.
