KATHUA, Apr 12: Kathua police while continuing its war against drugs and eradication of this menace from the society, recovered approximately seven grams of Heroin like narcotics near Housing Colony, here and arrested one person in this connection.
The contraband was recovered in the jurisdictional area of Police Station (PS) Kathua.
Police said on the overall directions of SSP Kathua, R.C Kotwal yesterday a police team of PS Kathua led by PSI, Fidda Hussain under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua, Shammi Kumar during patrolling duty near Camp Housing Colony, here noticed the movement of one suspicious person namely Ravi Kumar alias Laadi, son of Shashi Kumar of Chak Drab Khan Kathua on whose physical search, approximately seven grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics was recovered from his illegal possession.
The narcotics substance was seized and he was arrested. A case vide FIR No. 133/2022 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act stands registered at PS Kathua in this regard.
Meanwhile, police also seized 15 liters of illicit liquor and arrested one person in the jurisdictional area of PS Kathua near Chak Drab Khan.
A police team led by Inspector, Balram Sharma IC PP Nagri under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua, Shammi Kumar during special checking duty at Chak Drab noticed one person who was selling illicit liquor to people in order to gain illegitimate profit. On his physical checking approximately 15 liters of illicit liquor was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Satnam, son of Rasal Chand of Chak Drab Khan district Kathua. The consignment of illicit liquor approximately 15 liters was seized and he was arrested. A case vide FIR No. 134/2022 U/S 48(a)/ Excise Act has been registered at PS Kathua and further investigation into this matter has been set into motion.
