2 arrested with illicit liquor

JAMMU, May 17: Kanachack and Rajgarh police arrested two persons along with illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Kanachack Police Station laid a naka near Sua Number 1 and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK14B-4450.
During checking, police team recovered 3.5 litres of illicit liquor from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Rakesh Kumar, son of Hans Raj, a resident of District Udhampur.
The arrested person was carrying the illicit liquor for selling among the masses to make illegitimate profits thereby violated the DM Jammu’s order as there was prohibition in the area on sale and purchase of the liquor.
A case under FIR Number 68/2020 under section 48-F Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Kanachack and investigation started.
Police team led by ASI Rounak Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Kanachack Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Post Rajgarh led by SPO Muzamil Ahmed during patrolling at village Barlla Kumait apprehended a person along with 2 litres of illicit liquor and around 15 litres of lahan. Utensils used for preparing liquor were recovered and destroyed on the spot.
The arrested person was identified as Dev Raj, son of Rubail Singh of Barlla Kumait Tehsil Rajgarh District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 69/2020 under section 48 (e) Excise Act has been registered and investigation started.
