2 arrested with smuggled liquor from Punjab

JAMMU, Apr 27: Two persons were arrested with large quantity of smuggled liquor from Punjab.
As per police sources, on reliable information, police cops laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle.
During checking, police team recovered around 130 bottles of liquor concealed in 11 boxes from the vehicle and arrested the driver along with his associate.
The arrested persons were identified as Surjeet Singh and Shakti Singh, both residents of Gho Manhasa, District Jammu.
During initial investigation, it came to fore that the liquor was smuggled from Punjab in a vehicle carrying essential commodities.
A case under FIR Number 100/2020 under relevant sections has been registered at Domana Police Station and investigation started.
The whole operation was carried out under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul, Incharge Police Post Chinore Deepak Bharti, SHO Domana Inspector Chanchal Singh, SP Rural Suram Singh and SSP Jammu Sridhar Patil.
