KATRA, Oct 6: General Railway Police today foiled an attempt of liquor smuggling to the holy town and seized 80 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of two bootleggers, who were also arrested.
The accused, identified by Bablu, son of Shamu of Bhagta, Katra and Kewal Kumar alias Dev Kumar (18) son of Dewan Chand of Bhagta Katra, were intercepted near Khanoni Bridge by a GRP team, led by SHO Police Station GRP, Inspector Narinder Singh.
A case in this connection has been registered under 48A Excise Act and 188 RPC.
