REASI, Nov 25: Tightening its noose around the bootleggers as Panchayat elections are going on, District Police Reasi arrested two persons from Jyotipuram and Bharakh, who were trying to smuggle the liquor to different places.
In the first incident a person namely Mohan Lal of Bakal, Reasi was nabbed by a special team of Police Post, Jyotipuram and on personal search of the accused, 49 bottles of Rum 180 ml and 2 bottles of 750 ml of JK Desi Whiskey were recovered. In this context a case FIR No. 202/2018 u/s 48(a) Excise Act of PS Reasi has been registered and investigation has been set into motion.
In a separate incident, 48 bottles of JK Desi Whiskey were recovered from the possession of Manohar Lal of Satori, Tehsil Teryath, who was trying to smuggle it from Bharakh, Pouni towards Teryath Rajouri. In this context, a case FIR number 58/2018 u/s 48(a) Excise Act of PS Pouni has been registered.
