2 bootleggers arrested with illicit liquor

SAMBA, Dec 23: Intensifying its drive against the sale of illicit liquor in the district under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba, district police Samba has arrested two bootleggers and recovered 96 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.
As per reports, a police party of PP Supwal headed by SI Javed Kataria, I/C PP Supwal under the supervision of Inspector, Chanchal Singh, SHO P/S Samba and Deepak Digra, DySP. Hqrs Samba during vehicle checking Naka at NHW Supwal intercepted one truck bearing Registration No. PB35Q-5662, which was on its way from Punjab towards Kashmir. During checking of the vehicle 72 bottles of special whisky (250 ml each) & 24 bottles of RUM (750 ml each) of illicit liquor were recovered which they used for illegal sale among general public. The accused persons identified as Harjinder Singh, S/o Kashmir Singh of Tatly, Gurdaspur and Ajay Pandit S/o Mohan Lal Pandit of Nagrota Jammu have been arrested and the vehicle was also seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 329/2018 US 34 (A) Excise Act has been registered and further investigation started.
