KATRA, Feb 28: Police has foiled an attempt of liquor smuggling to the holy town and arrested two bootleggers, who were carrying 138 pouches of illicit liquor for illegal sale of the same in Katra.
A Police party, led by SHO Katra, Inspector Kuldeep Krishan, under the supervision of SDPO Dr Ashok Sharma, laid a special naka at Nomain and apprehended two persons namely Suresh Kumar of Parthal Katra and Rinku Sharma of Shawapatta Gharota Jammu, who were on way towards Katra. During frisking of the duo, 138 poly pouches, measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise Liquor, were recovered from their possession.
Police has registered a case in this connection at Katra Police Station.
