2 bootleggers nabbed with 200 bottles of liquor

RAJOURI, Sept 5: Police today foiled a liquor smuggling bid by arresting two bootleggers and recovering 200 bottles of liquor from their possession.
According to a police spokesperson, a car bearing registration number JK08E-4937 was moving in Siot area when police patrolling team headed by SHO Dharamsal Rajinder Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera Zakir Shaheen Mirza signalled the car to stop but driver attempted to break the naka.
“Alert cops, however, managed to intercept the vehicle and detained two persons boarded in the car. They were identified as Ghardhary Lal son of Sarshati Dass and Parvinder Aryia son of Om Parkash, both residents of Lamberi,” he said, adding, during search of vehicle, 200 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the vehicle following which both the accused were arrested and vehicle was seized.
The official said that a case FIR number 83/2020 under Section 48-A Excise Act was registered in this connection at Dharamsal police station and further investigation started.
