2 bovine smugglers held

JAMMU, Oct 19: Akhnoor police today arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued three milch animals from their possession, which they were smuggling to Valley.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs about bovine smuggling to Valley, police party from Akhnoor Police Station led by SHO Mahesh Sharma laid a naka at Sungal morh and intercepted a Srinagar bound load carrier bearing registration number JKO2AT 9166.
During checking, police recovered three milch animals and arrested two bovine smugglers namely Vikram, son of Uttam Kumar of Sangani, tehsil Akhnoor and Abdul Qayoom, son of Mohd Saleem of district Reasi, spokesman added.
A case under FIR number 239/12 has been registered at Akhnoor Police Station and investigation started.
