JAMMU, Mar 14: Two Cabinet Ministers were found inattentive during the Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly today. While one immediately managed to give reply, another could not trace the written reply prompting the Deputy Speaker, who was conducting the proceedings of the House, to defer the question.
Deputy Speaker, Mohammad Sartaz Madni had to name the Minister for Urban Development, Nawang Rigzin Jora thrice and press the buzzer to invite his attention to answer the question of National Conference MLA Peer Afaq Ahmad listed at Serial No.12.
The Minister could not promptly answer the question as the written reply was not traceable. However, within minutes he found the document and gave reply to the query of MLA.
Thereafter, Minister for Medical Education, Taj Mohi-ud-Din, who had to reply the question of National Conference MLA, Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal on behalf of Minister Incharge Home, was found inattentive. As he was not having the written reply, Dr Kamaal handed over his own copy to the Minister through staff of the Assembly.
Expressing serious concern over non-seriousness on the part of Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Deputy Speaker, Sartaz Madni deferred the question of Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal.
In the written reply to the question of Dr Kamaal, the Government said that about 14 lakh vehicles are plying on National Highway 1A in a year and to regularize the movement of such a large number of vehicles 352 traffic cops have been posted on the National Highway from Jammu to Srinagar and beyond.
