Srinagar, Dec 12: Two civilians were injured after militants hurled a grenade towards a Police Post near a bus stand in Sopore town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district this evening.
The injured civilians were rushed to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Sopore for treatment.
They have been identified as Shakir Ahmed Malik, 22, son of Farooq Ahmad Malik of Chinkipora and Bilal Zuffar Budoo, 26, son of Zafferullah Budoo of Sideeq Colony Sopore. The condition of the injured is stable.
Soon after the attack, security forces rushed to the spot and sealed the area to nab the attackers. However, militants had fled after carrying out the attack.
A case has been registered in this regard under relevant Sections of law, police said, adding that investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
