POONCH, Sept 26: A Selection Grade Constable (SGC) of J&K Police among two persons were killed while a minor was injured in an accident in Kalar- Plera area of Mandi tehsil while a Special Police Officer (SPO) was killed in a motor-cycle accident at Qazi Morha in Poonch district today.
Official sources said that an Alto car, bearing registration number JK12C-6052 fell down into a deep gorge at Kalar, near Plera village in which minor among three persons were travelling. Soon after the accident, locals of the area rushed to the spot for rescue operation and shifted all of them to Sub District Hospital, Mandi.
Dr Qayoom said that two persons were having head injury and they were brought dead, while child was having minor injuries who was treated here. ” The dead bodies were handed over to the family through Police after performing all the legal formalities here”, he added.
Both the deceased were identified as Mohd Sadiq (40), son of Mohd Akbar and Mohd Jameel (38), son of Mohd Ayoob while injured minor as Naieem ul Sadiq, son of deceased Mohd Sadiq residents of Plera village in Mandi.
Meanwhile, Police has taken cognizance and an FIR vide number 94/2023 under sections 279, 337 has been registered in Police Station, Mandi.
Another report said that a Special Police Officer died in an accident in Qazi Morha area of Poonch, the dead body of whom was recovered this morning.
Official sources said that the body of SPO Khaliq Hussain was lying around 10 feet down from the road with his motorcycle lying nearby after which dead body was shifted to District Hospital Poonch for medico-legal formalities.
SHO Poonch Deepak Pathania said that dead body was handed over to family for last rites, while a case under Sections 279, 304 has been registered in Police Station Poonch.
