2 cops arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Nov 20: Two cops of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) have been arrested along with 14 grams of heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Satwari Police Station laid a naka near Karan Bagh and intercepted two pedestrians, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 14 grams of heroin from the possession of these pedestrians and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Amir Aslam, son of Mohammad Aslam of Khatikaan Talab Jammu and Nayeem Manzoor, son of Manzoor Ahmed Dar of Chadoora, District Budgam. Amir is SPO in the Police Department, while Manzoor Ahmed is constable.
A case under FIR Number 196/18 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh and SI Gurupal Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, SP City South Vinay Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
