JAMMU, Nov 22: Two police cops were injured in stone pelting in Muralian area of Miran Sahib today.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Miran Sahib police station conducted raid in Muralian area of Miran Sahib to nab the two absconding brothers namely Showkat alias Shanky and Liaquat Ali, both residents of Muralian. They were involved in bovine smuggling and evading their arrest since long.
The party reached the spot to nab the bovine smugglers, but the people including women and children started stone pelting on the police team, in which Head Constable Shamsher Singh and Constable Vijay Kumar were injured.
The injured cops were shifted to hospital, where they were undergoing treatment.
The bovine smugglers managed to escape from the spot during stone pelting.Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
