POONCH, May 24: Two CRPF personnel sustained injuries after a bus, ferrying them met with an accident in Poonch area this afternoon.
Official sources said that a civil bus bearing registration number JK02A- 4899, carrying CRPF personnel, on way from Sawjian (Mandi) to Poonch to collect an Electronic-Voting-Machines (EVMs), slipped off the road after hitting a small culvert (Puli) in Chaktroo area of Mandi tehsil.
Two personnel received injuries and were immediately taken to District Hospital Poonch for treatment, Both the injured personnel are believed to be out of danger.
The driver and conductor of the bus besides the CRPF jawans onboard, had a miraculous escape as the lower portion of the body touched the ground and side protection of the Puli held the rear wheels of the bus, which prevented the vehicle to fall into the Nallah. It blocked the narrow road for long and later the bus was pulled back with the help of a crane.
