JAMMU, Dec 23: Two-day All India Dogri Writers’ Conference concluded today at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.
In the panel discussion, Darshan Darshi, former MLA Dr Krishan Lal, Dr Om Vidhyarthi and Dr Gian Singh were in the presidium as panelists, which was moderated by Mohan Singh.
In the said discussion, the issues related to Dogri language, Culture and Literature were discussed and it was unanimously recommended that the Dogri News Unit of All India Radio Delhi should be restarted at Delhi alongwith the restoration of full strength staff which has been shifted to Jammu.
Further, it was demanded that the decision of deduction of time slot in the programmes of Doordarshan Kendra Jammu should be withdrawn and the Jammu Dogri Channel should be started on the pattern of Kashir Channel. Opening of Dogri Departments in the Universities of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, Central University, Cluster University, extension counters of Jammu University at Kathua, Udhampur, Bhaderwah and other districts of Jammu province including the Kashmir University and SMVD University was also demanded.
It was also unanimously endorsed that the vacant 49 posts of College Lecturers in Dogri language announced last year should be filled without any further delay. The resolution also recommended opening of Academy office at Udhampur. Regarding the publication of Sheeraza Dogri, it was recommended that Dogri Sheeraza should be a monthly journal instead of bimonthly and Dogri English Dictionary project should also be taken up by the JKAACL. The resolution also strongly recommended the implementation of decision of inclusion of Dogri Language in Government and Private schools without any further delay, restarting popular programme Gharana and publication of children literary magazine.
It was also demanded that the Radio Kashmir Jammu should be renamed as Radio Jammu. The decision of celebration of Dogri Maanta Diwas by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages should be reshaped.
On the 2nd day of All India Dogri Writers’ Conference, Neeru Sharma presented her paper on the topics ‘Bara-2017 Da Dogri Ch Anuvadat Sahitya. In the second paper reading session- Dr Radha Rani presented her paper on the topic Bara -2017 Da Dogri Katha Sahitya.
In the evening, a Dogri Kavi Goshthi was organized in which poets from Jammu-Kashmir and outside the State participated.
