2-day conference on ‘emerging trends in engineering tech’ concludes

JAMMU, Sept 16: The two-day 3rd National Conference and Exhibition on “Emerging and Innovative trends in Engineering Technology” (NCEEITET-15) organized by Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) in collaboration with IETE Jammu Local Centre concluded today.
The conference was aimed to provide a common platform to create a connect between the academicians, students, researcher and industry for exchange of knowledge and innovative ideas to serve the society in a better way.
The programme of the conference comprised of invited talks, plenary talks from eminent personalities from research and industry. Further, it consisted of technical sessions for the contributed paper presentations from the participants. In addition to this workshops and display of exhibits by CPSUs/PSUs were also limelight of the event.
A total of 90 papers were received for publication from all over the country out of which 55 were accepted for publication in the Conference Proceedings after peer reviewing and as well published by the online International Journal of Science and Technical Advancements (IJSTA) globally accessible by all with effect from September 17 onwards.
The valedictory ceremony started with the welcome address by Dr.Sameru Sharma, Principal, GCET, Prof.(Dr.).R.D.Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Jammu graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his valedictory address, he motivated and encouraged the students to play a pivotal role towards an integrated approach to capitalize from vast knowledge of Scientific and Engineering advancements. He complimented Dr.Sameru Sharma, Principal GCET for her efforts to provide such a common platform which will definitely lead and prepare the young enthusiastic minds to face the upcoming challenges.
Dr.Labh Singh, Chief General Manager, BSNL, J&K was the guest of honour and P.B Jain, General Manager, CVPPL Jammu and N.D Khawaja, GM JKPCC were the special guests.
During the valedictory event, K.R Suri, P.K Nanda, S.K Zadoo and T.Surbramanian delivered the invited talks and lectures to the participants throwing light on diverse aspects of the emerging technological advancements throughout the globe and their social relevance and impact on human life.
The ceremony ended with vote of thanks by Convener, Dr.Bhawna Sharma.
