SRINAGAR, June 26: Stressing to preserve the oldest world treasure of Gojri language by documenting its folk and modern literature, the participants  on the concluding day of  2-day State Level Gojri Literary and Cultural Meet called for speedy development of this third largest spoken language of Jammu and Kashmir.
Organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, the Meet was held here at Seminar Hall of Academy in which 200 writers, poets, intellectuals, critics and artists from all over the State participated.
Dr Javaid Rahi, Chief Editor of State Academy said that the outcome of the meet was quite encouraging, adding the suggestions received from our writers regarding promotion of Gojri Language will be forwarded to relevant quarters immediately after the conclusion of programme for implementation.
He impressed upon the Gojri writers, poets and intellectuals to play a strong role in reformation of Tribal Society of Gujjars, adding that this is a high time to promote their writing through latest means across the   globe.
He assured that Academy will provide all help to Gojri writers for publication of their books in shape of subsidy and other assistance.
The paper reading session was presided over by prominent Gojri writer Ch Naseem Poonchi, while Ch Abdul Salam Kousri, G R Badhana, Abdul Majeed Hasrat, M Ashraf Tak Abdul Ghani Arif  and Mohammad Mansha Khaki read out the paper.
The paper session was followed by Short Story reading session which was presided over by versatile writer Ch Aqbal Azeem
A Musical programme was the main attraction of the event.
Those who performed well included Bagum Jan and Party, Fareed Parwaz and Party, Noor Hususain Shoquen and Party, Noor un Nisa and Party and Begum Jan and Party.
