2-day National Conference on Algebra, Analysis concludes at MAM College

JAMMU, Aug 19: The 2-day National Conference on Algebra, Analysis and their Application, organized by the Post Graduate Department of Mathematics concluded at Government MAM College, here today.
Dr RD Sharma, Chairman, Board of Professional Entrance Examination, was the chief guest on the valedictory function of this conference, which was sponsored by NBHM.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sharma said that such conferences provide an opportunity to the academicians, scholars, staff and students of Institution of Higher Learning to have the latest knowledge in the field of Mathematics.
Dr Sharma highlighted the various initiatives taken by the University of Jammu in developing the mechanism of quality education in the Colleges.
Prof Ramesh Chander, Principal of MAM College in his welcome address said that the main objective of the conference is to provide a platform to the Mathematicians, Staff and Students to interact and discuss the various issues pertaining to the new discoveries in Mathematics. He further said that the conference will go a long way in boosting the morale of the teachers to organize such conferences in each subject.
Academicians of National and International repute from outside the J&K State; University of Jammu, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, BGSB University, Teachers from different Govt and Private Colleges, besides a number of Scholars participated and presented their papers with focus on Algebra, Analysis and their Applications.
Prof BS Komal presented brief report of the conference, while the other dignitaries present on the occasion included Prof DD Somashekra, University of Mysore, Prof JN Sharma, NIT Hamirpur, Shimla, Dr PK Sharma, DAV College, Jalandhar, Dr SK Yadav,
University of Delhi, Dr Satish Verma, University of Delhi, Dr KS Charak, University of Jammu, Dr Ramesh Chander, University of Jammu, Dr Avanish Gupta, president College Teachers Association, Prof DK Gupta, Dr Ashok Koul, Dr Bupinder Singh, Prof KR Sahni and Prof Basant Ram.
Prof Nalini Pathania conducted the proceedings of the programme, while Dr Chandershekhar, Organizing Secretary of the event presented the vote of thanks.
