JAMMU, Dec 31: The two day training programme on e-tendering procurement and Government E-Marketplace (GEM) conducted by National Informatics Centre (NIC) in collaboration with Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), concluded at Media Complex, here.
The training programme was attended by Director Information & Public Relations, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar; Joint Director Information, Jammu, Naresh Kumar; Deputy Directors; Administrative Officer; Information Officers and other concerned officials of the department.
The training was imparted to the participants by Senior Programmers of NIC Deepak Bajaj and Sumit Kapoor, who outlined the mechanism of e-tendering processing.
Addressing the officers during the training programme, Director Information, Dr. Sehrish said that the e-tendering has brought ease in procurement of goods and services for the government offices as this has removed the manual intervention to a large scale, thereby bringing transparency and efficiency in the working of departments.
Dr. Sehrish further said that the many new changes will be brought into the department soon and more such steps will be taken to streamline the department through online mechanism.
Dr. Sehrish also said that some officials of the department who were recently send to Bureau of Outreach & Communication, New Delhi, for the capacity building programme is also part of this process.
She stated that more training sessions in other sectors like accounting, advertising, etc are planned for the officials of the department.
Later, Director Information, Dr. Sehrish presented certificate of appreciation to the visiting officials of NIC.
