KARGIL, Sept 14: The two-day workshop on disaster preparedness organized by Centre for Disaster Management and Environment Studies of J&K, IMPA concluded here today.
The workshop, inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal, who is also Chairman District Disaster Management Authority, Kargil, was aimed at equipping different stakeholders of the district with the methodology and techniques to deal with calamities.
Over 50 participants including Government functionaries as well as representatives of various religious organization and NGOs, volunteers of Red Cross, SDRF, F&ES, Bharat Scouts etc attended various sessions of the programme.
On the occasion, initiatives taken by DDMA and salient features of District Disaster Management Plan Kargil were highlighted.
