2-day workshop on ‘International Marketing’ begins at JU

Prof Harish Choudhary sharing his consultancy experience with the Management students during a workshop at JU on Thursday.

JAMMU, Mar 14: A two-day case study based comprehensive workshop on “International Marketing” began at International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM) at University of Jammu.
During the workshops, organized for the students of MBA International Business and the MBA students of Kathua Campus, cases of Maruti Udyog and Johnson were critically addressed through SWOT Analysis to draw inferences there from.
Professor Harish Choudhary form Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, who is the resource person for the workshop, shared his consultancy experiences. He also shared experiences of various companies that entered into untapped markets and their survival rates.
Starting from Moser Baer’ current business to their prospective investments in the field of Solar Cells in Atlanta, he elaborated upon the need for focused strategic development, which he exemplified by quoting the case of ITC in the context of reshaping and restructuring its image from a Tobacco entity to a conglomerate.
He distinguished between user and buyer intentions citing Johnson’s example.
Speaking on the occasion, JU Vice-Chancellor Prof M P S Ishar appreciated the initiative of the International Centre in bringing home the world class expertise to the doorsteps of the management students of Jammu University.
Earlier, the workshop opened with the welcome address by Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Director, ICccR & HRM and Rector, Kathua Campus. Professor B C Sharma, Dean, Students’ Placement also spoke on the occasion.
As a part of the workshop, research instrument was also discussed that focused on the investigation of changes experienced by academics in higher education. It also dealt with seeking students feedback in response to the changing requirements in education sector.
