REASI: As a part of drive launched to sensitise and train the medical staff and district officers, representatives from Divisional Commissioner Office Jammu organised two days training programme which was concluded here today.
The main focus of the progarmme was preparedness and execution of disaster plan pertaining to earth quakes and fires.
The progarmme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Prasanna Ramaswamy G.
The experts delivered interactive lectures to make officers aware on different techniques required for smooth implementation of the disaster plan.
While speaking the experts mentioned that the state of Jammu and Kashmir falls in seismic zones 4 and 5 of the earth quake prone areas and thus, it becomes important to train the officers and stake holders for taking precautionary measures.
Threadbare discussion was held on flood preparedness and management scenario in the district, vulnerable areas, flood prone sites, sliding zones, shooting stones locations and other proposed initiatives including training and workshops helpful for educating the stakeholders.
The main expert for programme on the occasion was Alok Nanda.
Among other present on the occasion CPO Harbans Lal, DSEO, XENs and several other officers of district administration, police and disaster management.
