2 detained under PSA

POONCH, Apr 9: In a proactive measure to tighten the grip on notorious trouble creators and uphold public order, the District Police Poonch has detained two such individuals under the Public Safety Act (PSA) .
“Yar Mohd, son of Sultan Mohd Tantray, resident of Bedar, Tehsil Mandi and Anjum Khan (Mughal), son of Azmat Hussain, resident of Mahra, Tehsil Surankote, District Poonch have been identified as a habitual trouble creator posing a significant threat to the peaceful existence of society. Both notorious persons have demonstrated a pattern of behavior characterized by the adoption of various tactics to spread terror and fear within the community,” a police official said.
“As their actions have posed a serious risk to public safety and tranquility. To prevent further criminal activities detrimental to public order, the District Police Poonch, acting upon a detention order obtained from the District Magistrate Poonch, have taken the necessary steps to detain Yar Mohd and Anjum Khan,” he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that both the notorious persons have been implicated in several criminal cases, notably involving criminal intimidation, interference in public work, assault etc within the jurisdiction of Police Station Mandi and Surankote, respectively.
This detention underscores the resolve of law enforcement authorities to tackle individuals who disrupt the peace and harmony of society, the spokesman added.
