RAJOURI, Dec 30: Two persons were killed while eight others injured when a passenger bus overturned on the road in Gambhir Muglan area of Manjakote in district Rajouri today.
Official sources said that mishap took place at around 2 pm when the bus bearing registration number JK02AE/3393 was on way to Gambhir Muglan from Rajouri. When it reached near Kakora Morh, the bus driver lost control over the vehicle and it over-turned on the road. While two passengers were crushed under the bus, eight others sustained injuries.

The locals of the area rushed to the spot and launched rescue operation. The deceased were identified as Mohd Sheraz (23), son of Mohd Din, resident of Galuti village in Manjakote and Ruksana (13), daughter of Mohd Ishaq, resident of Chowkian, near Kotdharra.
The injured identified as Mohd Din, son of Noor Din; Mohin Khan, son of Mohdf Shabir, Hamida Begum, wife of Mohd Nazir; Aftab Ahmed, son of Mohd Hussain, Nazira, wife of Mohd Hussain, Shabina, wife of Mohd Bashir and Shahid Ahmed, son of Mohd Kabir, all hailing from Gambhir Muglan area, were removed to PHC Manjakote. Later, they were removed to GMC Rajouri.
The District Administration Rajouri provided Rs 25,000 ex-gratia/relief to the families of the deceased persons and Rs 10,000 to each injured.
Meanwhile, former Minister and DDC Vice Chairman Shabir Ahmed Khan today visited GMC, Rajouri to enquire about the condition of the people injured in a road accident near Kakora, Manjakote in Rajouri district.
