UDHAMPUR, July 21: In a tragic road accident, a five-year old girl and her maternal uncle died while sister of the deceased man sustained critical injuries when their Scooty was hit by a minibus on By-Pass National Highway near Battal Balian, here today.
The deceased were identified as Joginder Kumar (35), son of Krishan Lal and his niece Palak (5), daughter of Mohinder Kumar of Battal Balian. They reportedly died on the spot while younger sister of deceased Mohinder Kumar, namely Pritama Devi (22), sustained critical injuries and has been admitted in District Hospital Udhampur.
The accident took place when minibus, a Tata-404, on way from Jammu to Kashmir, hit the scooty, which was coming from the opposite direction. Some passersby and Police shifted the trio to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared two of them as brought dead.
Acting swiftly, Police arrested driver of minibus and registered a case in this connection.
