No new cases in Jammu’s 4 distts

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Aug 2: Two persons died of COVID-19 and 118 tested positive in Jammu and Kashmir today while two fresh cases were reported in Ladakh.
One COVID fatality and 72 positive cases were registered in the Jammu region while one death and 46 cases were recorded in Kashmir.
A 50-year-old woman hailing from village Sanjiote in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district died of ailments and COVID-19 in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
Among 72 new COVID positive cases in Jammu region, 42 were reported in Reasi district and 40 of them were travelers, all of whom were found infected on their arrival at Katra Railway Station.
Positive cases from other districts include 15 in Doda, six Rajouri, five Jammu, three Kishtwar and one in Udhampur. Kathua, Samba, Poonch and Ramban districts didn’t report any new cases today.
As against 72 fresh cases, 47 recovered from the virus,
Jammu region now has 1,21,877 Corona cases. Among them, 491 are active positive while 1,19.242 have recovered from the virus and there have been 2144 casualties.
The Union Territory of Ladakh today reported two new Corona positive cases, both in Leh district.
The UT of Ladakh’s Corona count now stood at 20340. However, there are only 57 active positive cases as 20076 have recovered from the virus and there have been 207 casualties—149 in Leh and 58 in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today recorded 46 fresh cases of COVID-19, the lowest since March while one person died.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 199,848 including 196,848 recoveries and 2,237 deaths while.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,254 including 763 from Kashmir division.
With 73 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 316,090, which is 98.25 percent of the total cases.
Those who tested positive include 18 from Srinagar, 11 from Baramulla, 8 from Budgam, 1 from Pulwama, 2 from Kupwara, 4 from Ganderbal and 2 from Kulgam.
As per officials figures, 71,439 positive cases including 833 deaths and 70,298 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,661 including 282 deaths and 23,238 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,912 including 22,631 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Budgam, 15,192 including 14,948 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,071 including 165 deaths and 13,879 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,328 including 16,084 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,470 cases including 9,357 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,924 including 9,782 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,267 including 11,114 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,584 including 5,517 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
