Srinagar, Nov 20: Kashmir today recorded two deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 1,622 while 408 positive cases were reported from Valley.
A 65-year-old woman from Shahlaal in district Kupwara and a 67-year-old man from Pran Bawan Anantnag died today. With these deaths, the total fatality count in the Valley has reached 1072 and 550 in the Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 402 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 159, Budgam 98, Pulwama 86, Kupwara 80, Anantnag 77, Doda 52, Bandipora 49, Kulgam 48, Ganderbal 37 and Shopian 36.
And Kashmir today reported 408 fresh COVID cases.
Those who tested positive include 169 from Srinagar, 63 Baramulla, 53 Budgam, 22 Pulwama, 27 Kupwara, 16 Anantnag, 21 Bandipora, 28 Ganderbal, 6 Kulgam and 3 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 22,119 positive cases including 402 deaths and 20,151 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,151 including 159 deaths and 6,399 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,630 including 6,247 recoveries and 98 deaths are from Budgam, 4,941 including 4,706 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,011 including 80 deaths and 4,407 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,483 including 4,213 recoveries and 77 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,317 cases including 4,090 and 49 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,060 including 3,750 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,569 including 2,442 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,293 including 2,184 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Shopian.
So far 2,756,552 samples were processed and 2,651,176 tested negative while as 105,376 tested positive. Among them 5,678 persons are active, 98,076 persons have recovered and 1,622 persons have died.
The total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 63,574 including 58,589 recoveries and 1,072 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 41,802 including 39,487 recoveries and 550 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,678 including 3,913 from Kashmir division.
With 539 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 98,076, which is 93.07 percent of the total cases.
